Will there be a shuttle?

For Saturday (wedding day!), transportation to the reception will be offered from one hotel in Charlevoix - The Weathervane. The shuttles will leave the hotel at 3:45pm - you are welcome to hop on the shuttles even if you are not staying at one of the hotels! We'll run several shuttles back to the hotels during and after the reception, with the final shuttles ending the night at 11pm. For those who prefer to drive to the reception venue, BHYC has plenty of available parking on-site. We care about you all, please be safe and do not drink and drive!

What's the closest airport?

For out of state guests, please visit the "Travel Suggestions" tab for airports and rental car information.

Where should I stay?

We encourage guests to stay in Charlevoix. Please visit the Travel tab for hotel recommendations & discount codes. You'll notice we have plenty of options to choose from! We hope you can find one that fits your needs - whether you're looking for an upscale lakeside stay, or in search of a budget friendly option. We also encourage you to check out Airbnbs & VRBOs - if traveling with a group (family or friends), these can be the most cost effective (and fun!) accommodations. Northern Michigan summers are a hot commodity, so please book ASAP.

What will the weather be like?

August days in Northern Michigan are in the 70s-80s with a nice lake breeze and cooler nights. That being said, it's Michigan and anything goes - pack a swimsuit AND a sweatshirt! We encourage you to check the weather before traveling up north.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30pm. We kindly ask all guests to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Please note that the ceremony location on the dock is couple minute walk from the entrance, plan accordingly. Those who need assistance will have a golf cart to shuttle them down. PLEASE NOTE: Charlevoix has a draw bridge that opens on the hour and half hour. It definitely causes traffic backups during summer months. Please account for extra time in route to the ceremony. See the home page for the venue address. Bay Harbor Yacht Club is a gated community - if you're driving yourself, simply tell the attendant your name and that you're attending the Murphy-Sirut wedding.

Are children and plus ones invited?

Although we both love children and many of our friends & family have little ones we adore, this will be an adult only wedding... a perfect excuse for a date night! Unless the invite clearly states "and guest" a plus one will not be able to join.

What if I have a dietary restrictions?

We are happy to accommodate any dietary needs. Please note any necessary accommodations in your RSVP response.

What should I wear to the Welcome Party?

Friday Welcome Party is lakeside casual - wear whatever you're comfortable in (ideas for men: golf shorts or slacks, jeans, golf polo, linen tee, etc... for women: a sundress, jeans and a cute top, etc). We recommend you bring a light sweater or jacket in case you get cold at night.

Will alcohol be served at the reception

The reception will be open bar. Please make the appropriate driving arrangements if you will be drinking! Please note that smoking of all kinds is prohibited on the property including cigarettes, vaping and cigars.

What restaurants & activities should I explore up north?

Northern Michigan is one of our favorite places! It was our dream to get married on the water here, and we appreciate you traveling (whether you're a drive or flight away!) for our special day. Our hope is that you can make it a weekend getaway and explore the area and enjoy the beautiful weather (fingers crossed)! Please check out the "Things to Do" tab and reach out to us if you want specific food recs... because after all, we're big foodies!

Where are you registered?

We are so blessed to have the majority of material things we need. While we have several items on our registry, our favorite things aren't material things, they're memories made traveling and seeing the world. We have created numerous funds for specific experiences on our honeymoon - if you choose to give this way, we would love to share pictures with you of us doing the experience as you helped us receive this once in a lifetime memory! We appreciate your love and support. Please refer to the "Registry" tab.

What should I wear to the Wedding?

The Ceremony & Reception dress is formal attire, black tie optional. For men, suit & tie preferred, but tie not required. For women, preferably long dresses. We would love for you to lean into the summer weather with fun colors (think pastels, bright/sunset colors, etc)! We are lively, outgoing people, and want our colors to reflect that fun! No need to go out and buy something new... well unless you're looking for an excuse to go shopping :) A classic black dress always looks great too! The Yacht Club does not allow denim. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside, while the reception will be inside - please look at the weather and plan accordingly. Please check the "Attire" tab for inspiration, but again, not required. We want you to feel your best and be able to shake it on the dance floor!
